Salad is a very flexible dish as you can literally make it from any food group. Veggies, fruits, dairy, meat, nuts, lentils.... the list is endless as to what can be used in a salad.
Its a healthy way of eating as mostly there are many uncooked
veggies thrown in almost all the salads. So lets indulge in some guilt free food !
Apple -- 1
Potato -- 2-3 (medium)
Cucumber -- 1 small
Lettuce iceberg -- 1/2 cup (torn)
Sweet corn kernels -- 1/2 cup
Purple cabbage -- 1/2 cup (shredded)(optional)
Mustard -- 1/2 teaspoon (add more if u like it)
Garlic -- 2 small cloves
Olive oil -- 2 tablespoons
Vinegar -- 1 teaspoon
Red chili flakes -- 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Cook potato and sweet corn.
Cool and slice the potatoes into wedges. Slice the cucumber and apple into thin wedge shaped slices.
In a salad bowl add all the ingredients for the salad and toss it. Chill it in the fridge.
Crush mustard and add finely chopped garlic,oil, vinegar, salt and chili flakes and mix it nicely.
Before serving take the salad veggies out from the fridge and add the dressing. Toss the salad nicely to coat the dressing evenly on all the vegetables.
Ready to serve.
